Tarte- be your own tarteist
I never thought this day would come… I bought something off of QVC. In my defense, they have great deals that I never would have known about if my husbands Grandmother hadn’t told me. She’s kind of a QVC addict- but possibly rightfully so. You can get some great deals on makeup there! Anyways- QVC had a great deal with a set of Tarte products that are EXCLUSIVE to QVC. When I read about the products, watched a couple YouTube videos, I knew I had to splurge. Heres what the set came with, and what I thought about the products!
Maracuja Miracle Foundcealer & – When I received my fancy package from QVC this was the item I was most excited to try. The idea behind it is that it’s a serum foundation (Foundation & Concealer in one). It’s supposed to cover and conceal while being lightweight and buildable. I’ve never been so disappointed in my life. This is terrible. I’m sorry if you like this, but I think it’s horrific. It has little coverage, becomes cakey (I build foundation “layers” very thinly), melts off my face, smells terrible and the eyedropper does not work. This is a flop. But I have good news… The brush that came with it is AMAZING! It’s the perfect size, shape, density, flexibility, and it applies EVERYTHING (liquid, powder, gelee &mousse) flawlessly. I have never been so impressed with a Tarte brush before. It’s magical.
Eye shadow & Blush Palette. Oh my! This is one of my newest obsessions. With six simple colors I can create so many looks. This is a great SMALL palette that’s small enough to fit in your purse but versatile enough to come up with a weeks worth of looks plus it came with a great double ended eye brush (perfect for traveling)! The eye shadows are so pigmented, creamy (almost butter-like) and super easy to apply with any brush. The blush, its so good. I don’t say that about many blushes. As some of you know- I’m not a blush gal. If I was packing for a trip I can almost guarantee you I wont pack a blush… Until I tried the blush in this palette. You guys, its magnificent! It’s creamy, pigmented, and LONG lasting. Plus it’s a great shade.
Tarte ‘Gifted” mascara, is good… but, its not great. The actual mascara formulation is great, but the wand is lacking. I personally think this formula would be much better suited for a wand like the Covergirl Lash Blast. If this formula had that wand it would be everyone’s favorite mascara. Since it’s the “old school” synthetic wand, it’s not my favorite. I typically go for volumizing mascaras, since my eyelashes are quite long naturally. One good thing I can mention is this is a B-L-A-C-K mascara. It’s so dark, rich and it’s not flakey. If you’re into the traditional wand, or extreme black pigment you should give this a try.
Lip Surgence in ‘Exquisite’ is one of my favorite lip-glosses of all time! And that’s saying something… I love me some gloss. It’s a beautiful dusty rose pink that has great lasting power and is comfortable to wear. I love it!
All in all, it was a great purchase- I’m going to gift the founcealer to my mother who will like the serum foumulation! Have you ever tried any Tarte products? If so, what? Did you like it as much as I like the Lip Surgence & small palette?
