Too Faced Melted Kisses & Sweet Cheeks Holiday Set
Too Faced Melted Kisses & Sweet Cheeks Holiday Set
I LOVE Too Faced Products… When I say that I mean I really love them. If you were to open up every drawer of my vanity you would find Too Faced products. I have their Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette, Candle Light powder, milk chocolate soileil, melted liquid lipsticks and a couple of their Love flush blushes. When I saw there Christmas sets launch I new I had to try a few of them. Today on the blog we’re going to be talking about the Too Faced Melted Kisses & Sweet Cheeks Holiday set. It’s an adorable trio of paired lipsticks and blushes. When I first got into makeup, I had no idea how to pair a blush, lipstick and my eye makeup. I love that this holiday set makes it so easy. Too Faced has taken the guessing out of the game and paired blushes and lipsticks that go well together.
The Melted Kisses & Sweet Cheeks set comes all packaged in one box BUT each set (lipstick & blush) is individually packaged in a cute little box. These would make great stocking stuffers, or a small gift for your makeup loving friends.
Lets get into my actual thoughts on the products.
What the Holiday Set Includes:
Three sets of deluxe sized samples (one blush & one liquid lipstick pairing)
Set 1- Liquid Lipstick in Nude (true nude) & blush in Love Hangover (Peachy-Pink)
Set 2- Liquid Lipstick in peony (Light dusty rose) & blush in Justify my love (blue based pink)
Set 3- Liquid Lipstick in Fig (Light plum) & blush in your love is king (Plumy/ rose)
This trio of pairings is great for beginners, or someone who is looking to try Too Faced Melted Lipsticks & Love flush blushes.
Texture of the Product:
The Lipstick: It’s a wet somewhat sticky formula that takes FOREVER to set. The major drawback of this product is that every wear test I’ve done (10+ times) it has taken over 30 minutes for the Melted Liquid Lipsticks to completely set and not transfer. AS a busy mom, that’s a long time for my toddler to be able to mess up my lipstick. It is however a great formula concerning the color pay off, longevity and it’s non drying and extremely comfortable to wear!
The Blush: Too Faced Love Flush Blush is one of my favorite formulations. They are bouncy, creamy and pigmented. SO be careful during application. It’s always better to build up your blush than looking like a clown with the first swipe of your brush.
Swatches VS. Actual Application
The lipstick swatches beautifully, but it is harder to apply it on your lips with the actual applicator. While it’s a doe foot applicator it is difficult to apply because it doesn’t allow you to create a crisp clean line. With the lighter shades like peony and nude its alright, but with fig you may want to squeeze some of the product out onto a lip brush. If however you choose to apply with the applicator I suggest cleaning up around your lips with concealer and a small detail brush.
The blushes swatch terribly- mostly because of the small packaging. You can barely get your fingers in it. I personally own a couple of the full size blushes and they swatch much better because you can actually pick up the product. This is one of the major drawbacks of the set. These blushes apply beautifully with a fluffy blush but be careful they are PIGMENTED!
Longevity: How long did it really last?
Well I’m glad you asked- the blush lasted literally ALL day. I applied my makeup mid morning and I still had a lovely flush of color when I went to wash my face. The lipstick did not last that long, but I cant blame it… I ate fried chicken. I’ve never had ANY lipstick pass the fried chicken test.
Packaging: Adorable… but WAY WAY WAY too small. Especially the packaging of the blushes. In my opinion Too Faced should have dropped the cutesy heart shaped blush inside and made it a square pan. If it was packaged like that it would be WAY easier to apply and more ergonomic.
The Nitty Gritty:
Lipstick: Don’t get me wrong, I do really like the melted lipsticks from Too Faced but I’m all about honesty. Lets get into the nitty gritty. When you apply these liquid lipsticks the look beautiful, smooth and sexy. However it takes LITERALLY forever for them to actually set- they transfer, and if you plan on eating you better take it with you for touchups.
Blush: As I mentioned before- I own a couple of the love flush blushes from Too Faced. I absolutely adore them! With that being said the packaging of the blushes in the holiday set almost ruins the experience of putting on a pigmented longwearing blush. I apply my blush with a large fluffy angled brush like the Morphe E3 or E7. Be weary these babies are pigmented- I ALWAYS tap the excess off of my brush. It’s buildable and doesn’t slough off my skin like a lot of drugstore blushes.
Overall Thoughts: I think this is an adorable Christmas gift- because the set is individually separated into three pairings its perfect to give out to your friends. The price point for three high end makeup gifts is great and if you’ve never tried Too Faced products, or a special someone hasn’t this is the perfect way to introduce them to a great brand.
